Your data is yours. We use it only to show it back to you, we never sell it, and you can delete it at any time.
Who we are
ybi is made by YBI LLC, a company based in Texas, USA. Questions about this policy: rj@ybiworks.com.
What we collect
Only what you choose to connect or enter:
- Your account. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier and, if you share them, your name and email.
- Health data. If you allow it, ybi reads data from Apple Health (for example sleep, workouts, steps, heart rate). You choose which types.
- Music. If you allow it, ybi reads your Apple Music listening history.
- Financial data. If you connect a bank through Plaid, we receive account names and types, balances, and transactions. If you choose to link them, we may also receive investment holdings and loan details. We never see or store your bank username or password.
- Things you create. Notes, tags, goals, trackers, and anything else you make in ybi.
- Basic app diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data, which do not include your health, music, or financial data.
How we use it
- To show your data back to you and let you organize it, link it, and track it over time.
- To run the features you turn on, including AI features you ask for.
- To keep the app working and secure.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade it. Health data from Apple Health is never used for advertising or shared with data brokers, and is never used for anything other than providing ybi's features to you.
AI features
When you use an AI feature (for example, asking a question about your data), ybi sends only the data needed for that request to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the answer. Anthropic processes it on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. Some features run entirely on your device using Apple's on-device models, and that data never leaves your phone.
Where it lives and how we protect it
Much of your data stays on your device. Data we store is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest. Bank connection tokens are kept only on our servers, never on your device. Access is limited to what is needed to run the service, and protected with multi-factor authentication.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active or a connection is in place. When you disconnect a bank, we end the connection with Plaid and delete the related financial data within 30 days. When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep something longer.
Your choices and rights
- Turn off Apple Health or Apple Music access at any time in iPhone Settings.
- Disconnect a bank at any time in ybi.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing rj@ybiworks.com. We respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; we honor them.
Children
ybi is not meant for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
This website
ybiworks.com has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Contact forms open your own mail app and store nothing here. Podcast audio plays straight from the show's own server.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
